Custom domains let you associate your own domain names with your Cool Popup installation. Instead of using a Cool Popup subdomain, you can present clients and collaborators with a URL that reflects your own brand — for example, popups.youragency.com.

How to add a custom domain

1

Open Domain settings

Go to DashboardSettingsDomainsAdd Domain.
2

Enter your domain name

Type the domain or subdomain you want to attach (e.g., popups.youragency.com) and click Continue.
3

Configure your DNS

Follow the DNS configuration instructions shown. You’ll need to add a CNAME record at your DNS provider pointing to Cool Popup’s servers. The exact target value is displayed on screen.
4

Wait for propagation

DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate globally. Your domain won’t verify until propagation is complete.
5

Verify the domain

Return to DashboardSettingsDomains and click Verify next to your domain. Cool Popup checks the DNS record and activates the domain once confirmed.

If you need more domains, upgrade your plan from DashboardSettingsBilling.
Use subdomains (e.g., popups.yourbrand.com) rather than root domains to keep branding consistent across client accounts and avoid interfering with your main website’s DNS.
DNS propagation times vary by provider and region. Even if you configure your CNAME record correctly, verification may not succeed for up to 24 hours. If verification fails after that window, double-check that the CNAME record is saved correctly at your DNS provider.
