This guide walks you through everything from creating your account to publishing your first live popup. Most users complete all six steps in under ten minutes.

Create your free account

Go to dash.coolpopup.com/register and sign up. No credit card is required to start. Once you confirm your email, you land directly in the Cool Popup dashboard.

Choose a template

From the dashboard, click New campaign, then browse the template library. Templates are organized by goal:
  • Email capture — grow your mailing list with inline or overlay forms
  • Exit intent — present an offer the moment a visitor moves to leave
  • Discount — show a coupon or promo code to drive purchases
  • Announcement — share news, product launches, or limited-time events
Click any template to preview it, then click Use this template to open it in the editor.

Customize in the editor

The no-code editor lets you change every part of the popup without touching code:
  • Colors and fonts — match your brand with the style panel on the right
  • Text — click any text block to edit it inline
  • Images — drag and drop your own images or pick from the built-in library
  • Form fields — add, remove, or reorder fields such as email, name, or phone number
Your changes save automatically. Use the device toggle at the top to preview how the popup looks on desktop and mobile.

Set your targeting rules

Click the Targeting tab to define when and to whom the popup appears. You can combine multiple conditions:

Set frequency controls (such as “show once per visitor per week”) to avoid annoying repeat visitors.

Install the snippet on your site

Click the Install tab inside your campaign, then copy your site’s unique embed snippet:

Paste the snippet into the <head> section of every page on your site. Do this once — all your campaigns run from the same snippet. For detailed instructions for your specific platform, see Install the Cool Popup snippet.

Publish and monitor

Return to the dashboard, open your campaign, and click Publish. Your popup is now live.Use the Analytics tab to track impressions, clicks, and conversions in real time. If a campaign is underperforming, return to the editor to adjust the copy, design, or targeting rules and republish.
